Everything about your aircraft memory.

Logging, scanning, privacy and TailTracker Vision — explained without the technical noise.

01

Getting started

The essentials for building your aircraft collection.
What is TailTracker?
TailTracker is your personal aircraft logbook. Every aircraft you fly on, spot, photograph or discover gets one permanent card, with every encounter attached to its history.
What counts as on board, spotted or viewed?
On board means you travelled on the aircraft. Spotted means you saw or photographed it at an airport. Viewed is for museums, airshows or notable aircraft seen from a distance.
How can I log an aircraft?
You can enter a registration manually, use the camera scanner, or add known flight details. Start with the registration — everything else can be completed later.
Why does an aircraft keep several memories?
An aircraft exists once in your collection, but every flight or sighting becomes a separate memory. This creates a real timeline instead of duplicating the same aircraft.

02

Vision & contributions

How the intelligent layer of TailTracker is being built.
What is TailTracker Vision?
TailTracker Vision is our aircraft registration recognition system. Its goal is to locate and read registrations in real aviation photos, making camera logging faster and more reliable.
Does Vision learn immediately from my answer?
No. Your annotation becomes a candidate training example. It is used only after validation against trusted aircraft data or additional review. This prevents incorrect answers from automatically teaching the system.
How can I help?
Use TailTracker Vision to frame visible registrations. Use Aircraft database to add missing photos, operators or aircraft types. Both improve TailTracker in different ways.
Is TailTracker Vision already a finished AI model?
Not yet. The annotation and validation pipeline is operational, while the recognition model is being developed and evaluated. We will only deploy a model when its results are measurably more reliable than the current scanner.

03

Data & privacy

Your collection remains yours.
Is my aircraft history public?
No. Your collection is private by default. A public profile is optional and can be configured from your profile settings.
What happens to uploaded aircraft photos?
TailTracker keeps a display crop and, for new uploads, a separate high-resolution original. The original allows accurate Vision annotations without degrading the photo used for recognition.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Your logbook can be exported, and supported collection data can also be accessed through the TailTracker API.
I found a bug or have an idea.
We would genuinely like to hear it. Send the details through the contact page, including a screenshot when the problem is visual.
